Pedometrics, Landscape Analysis and GIS Laboratory (PLG)

In the PLG Core Research Laboratory research is conducted using artificial intelligence (AI) - machine learning and deep learning algorithms, geostatistical and statistical methods, remote and soil sensing (visible/near-infrared (VNIR) and mid-infrared (MIR) diffuse reflectance spectroscopy), geographic information systems (GIS), and high-precision global positioning system (GPS).

Instruments include: ASD LabSpec (VNIR), NaturaSpec (VNIR), NeoSpectra (NIR), Agilent Fourier Transform (FIR) Analyzer, (MIR) and a Gasmet GT5000 Terra FTIR Gas Analyzer. 

​

The lab is located on the University of Florida (UF) main campus, Gainesville, Florida, McCarty Hall: Computer lab (G197) and spectral laboratory (G187).
