Pedometrics, Landscape Analysis and GIS Laboratory (PLG)

Director of the Pedometrics, Landscape Analysis, and GIS (PLG) Lab: Dr. Sabine Grunwald.

In the PLG Core Research Laboratory research is conducted using artificial intelligence (AI) - machine learning and deep learning algorithms, geostatistical and statistical methods, remote and soil sensing (visible/near-infrared (VNIR) and mid-infrared (MIR) diffuse reflectance spectroscopy), geographic information systems (GIS), and high-precision global positioning system (GPS). Instruments include: ASD LabSpec, NaturaSpec, NeoSpectra, and Agilent Fourier Transform (FIR) Analyzer and a Gasmet Analyzer for greenhouse gas measurements.

The lab is located on the University of Florida (UF) main campus, Gainesville, Florida, McCarty Hall: Computer lab (G197) and spectral laboratory (G187).
