Steps to Apply

To join the research team as a graduate student in Grunwald's Pedometrics, Landscape Analysis, and GIS Laboratory.

Apply to enter graduate programs (M.S. or Ph.D.) offered by the Soil and Water Sciences Department (SWSD), University of Florida:

  1. Follow the steps as outlined at: http://soils.ifas.ufl.edu or https://soils.ifas.ufl.edu/academics/graduate-studies/. In your application letter indicate your interest in Dr. Grunwald’s research program 'Pedometrics, Digital Soil Mapping, Landscape Analysis, and GIS'.

  2. Submit a complete application package to the department!

  3. Qualified top-tier candidates will be invited for an interview (via Zoom or on-campus). Interview and admission to enter graduate programs are made on a competitive basis. 

  4. For pre-screening of potential candidates you may consider to send a CV, digital portfolio of your experience and educational background, and letter of interest directly to Dr. Grunwald's email.

  1. Follow the steps as outlined at: https://snre.ifas.ufl.edu/. In your application letter indicate your interest in Dr. Grunwald’s research program 'Pedometrics, Digital Soil Mapping, Landscape Analysis, and GIS'. Dr. Grunwald is an affiliate faculty of SNRE and may serve as Major Advisor. 

  2. Submit a complete application package to SNRE!

  3. Qualified top-tier candidates will be invited for an interview (via Zoom or on-campus). Interview and admission to enter graduate programs are made on a competitive basis. 

  4. For pre-screening of potential candidates you may consider to send a CV, digital portfolio of your experience and educational background, and letter of interest directly to Dr. Grunwald's email.

Fellowships:

Are you interested in to submit an application to the National Science Foundation (NSF) or National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) to pursue a Ph.D. in Dr. Grunwald’s laboratory and research group? The candidate must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. to qualify for these kind of fellowship. Feel free to send an email with your idea to Dr. Grunwald.
